With the Barbie movie breaking records at the box office, Mattel is using the publicity to look for their first resident Chief Uno player to promote a new game.
The beloved toy company is ready to dish out some serious dough, over $17,000 to anyone over the age of 18 interested in creating social content for Uno on the streets of New York City to promote the newly released Uno Quatro game.
“We’re looking for someone who’s just as passionate about throwing down a Draw 4 as they are engaging strangers in a game. Someone who knows how to play a reverse and likes to get WILD (in a nice-ish way). Is that you?,” the announcement read.
Mattel’s Chief Uno player will earn $4,444.44 in four weeks from September 13 to October 7, according to the job posting.
If selected, you will be working 2-6 p.m., four days out of the week. Dates and times are subject to change.
Here are some of the Chief Uno player’s duties:
- Must be comfortable with interviews and appearances
- Helping to create and star in social content for various Uno games
- Starring in livestreams playing the Uno Quatro game with brand creators
- Being friendly and willing to ask strangers to play the game
- Being able to teach strangers how to play the game in an engaging way
- Must be able to sit for long periods, lift and carry 50 lbs and set up playing tables & tents on location
In order to Uno it up with Mattel, you must create your own TikTok video answering Uno's interview questions featured below. The video application deadline is August 10 at 11:59 p.m. PST.
What in the world is Uno Quatro?
Mattel has come up with various renditions of the iconic card game over the years, but Uno Quatro is a different kind of beast.
In addition to getting four-in-a-row like a normal Uno game, players must also match a color or number, according to Mattel’s website.
Instead of using cards, players slide tiles into one of seven trays with the intention of moving them to get four-in-a-row. The tiles have to touch another tile with the same color or number.
Special action tiles also make players work with fewer tiles, push a tile out of a tray, or force another player to take their turn with two fewer tiles.
